EarthWhorls Words of Love for Valentines Day

February 09, 2016

As we approach Valentine’s Day, our thoughts inevitably turn to words of love.  As a poet, I am fascinated by how many ways there are to say, “I love you.”

Here are a few of my favorites:

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.” - Pablo Neruda, 100 Love Sonnets

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” - Lao Tzu

“Nobody has ever measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold.”   - Zelda Fitzgerald

“Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love.”
– William Shakespeare, Hamlet

“I have decided to stick to love...Hate is too great a burden to bear.”  - Martin Luther King, A Testament of Hope:  The Essential Writings and Speeches

To some of my favorite people, I wish a very love filled Valentine’s Day and remind you, it is still not too late to add a touch of beauty, a hint of fashion, and the glow of nature to your day, with a one of a kind, handmade, gemstone and silver design from EarthWhorls at $25.00 off your order with code MYHEART2YOURS  Nature has Her own “words” for love and they speak through stone…

P.S.  I would not be much of a poet if I didn’t add my own words about love…

“Love is the breath we share, for were you not to breathe out, I could not fill my lungs with air.”  - Susan A. Katz, To the Love of my Life
