EarthWhorls Celebrates Amethyst The Birthstone for February With a 25% off “All Amethyst Designs” sale Code: MYAMETHYST

by Susan A. Katz February 07, 2018

Amethyst is mystical, magical, seductive and the subject of many legends and myths.  According to ancient Greek lore, amethyst could protect one from the “intoxicating powers of Bacchus, the God of wine.”  And, the English found amethyst to be so regal that for them, it became the color of royalty.

Aside from being the birthstone for February, amethyst is considered the official gem for Wednesday, Jupiter and for those who were born under the sign of Pisces.  Amethyst it is believed, symbolizes feelings of love and joy.  Additionally, the Hebrew word for amethyst is “ahlamah” which means “dream.”  It was thought that if you dreamed of amethyst, you would be free from harm.

Whatever myth you may associate with amethyst, jewelry designers and jewelry wearers have, for centuries, been hypnotically drawn to its beauty, color, sparkle and intense inner glow.  That it comes in a myriad of purple shades and hues, only adds to its allure.  For me, working with amethyst is like working with liquid light, it leads the way, through its inherent natural beauty, to the world of style and fashion.

Your birthstone?  Indulge yourself!  Not your birthstone?  Pamper yourself (or better still, find someone to pamper you!)  www.earthwhorls.com celebrates the beauty, power and energy of amazing amethyst.  Celebrate with us!  Shop Now!
