EARTHWHORLS CELEBRATES BIRTHSTONES With 35% off your total order with code: MYDAY

by Susan A. Katz August 08, 2018

The Origin of Birthstones. ... Scholars trace the origin of birthstones back to the Breastplate of Aaron, as described in the Book of Exodus in the Bible. The Breastplate boasted 12 unique gemstones that represented the 12 tribes of Israel. It was a religious garment with specific symbolism regarding the tribes.”

Today, we celebrate the beauty of birthstones and the connection they form with the date of our birth.  I’m a Sagittarius, a December baby.  Turquoise is my stone and, happily, it’s one of my favorites!  What is your birthstone?  Do you think it matches your taste, sense of fashion and personality?  Here’s a list of birthstones and their month:

January – Garnet   February - Amethyst   March – Aquamarine
April - Diamond    May - Emerald    June – Pearl
July – Ruby   August – Peridot   September – Sapphire
October – Tourmaline or Opal   November – Topaz or Citrine   December – Turquoise

While it may be impossible to celebrate the date of our birth by buying a diamond, emerald, ruby or sapphire, we can choose stones that emulate the colors and beauty of those gems. Fluorite and clear crystal work for diamonds.  Turquoise and chrysoprase are often very emerald-like in color and garnet and many forms of quartz and agate, come in shades of garnet-red.  Sapphire often resembles aquamarine. Choose a birthstone or, a stone that celebrates the colors of your birthday and take 35% off with code: MYDAY

Every day is a good day to celebrate yourself!
