EarthWhorls – Food & Fashion
I just returned from a fantastic trip to Pemaquid, Maine. Pemaquid is a tiny town with glorious scenery and a beautiful, soft, white, sandy beach. It is an easy one day trip from there to magnificent Acadia National Park. We hiked, kayaked, hiked some more, swam, ate, and one day, took the ferry over to Monhegan Island, a jewel of a place that transports you back in time. We climbed the sun drenched cliffs and listened to the sound of the ocean roaring against the rocks. Inspiration was everywhere!
Of course, because it was Maine, fresh seafood was on the menu almost every day. So too were salads fresh from the garden, corn and amazing lobster dishes. We really ate well but, suffered no guilt because everything we ate, while delicious, was nourishing and healthy and, left us feeling great and ready for another adventure.
I come from a family of healthy eaters! My son is a nutrition expert and my daughter in law, Catherine, created a website – www.cuisinicity.com - that, believe it or not, can help you look and feel more fashionable. Why? Because feeling good is what looking good, is all about!
And here’s something else that fashion and food have in common. People are always commenting that my jewelry “looks yummy,” “good enough to eat” and often, they’ll mention the food the stones remind them of. Strawberries are big on the list.
