There are many definitions of the word jewelry and most of them, sound pretty much the same. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “jewelry” as: “Objects of precious metal often set with gems worn for personal adornment.” Wikipedia describes “jewelry” as: “Small decorative items worn for personal adornment, such as brooches, rings, necklaces, earrings, pendants and bracelets.”
I have a very simple definition of jewelry” Fun! Fashionable! A bit Frivolous and mostly, just plain Fabulous! What I love most about making (and wearing) jewelry is that, for some reason, it just makes me feel good. Putting on a bracelet or sliding on a ring or, fastening a necklace that contrasts with the color of my shirt or sweater, elevates my sense of self – just a bit. I feel grown up and ready to face the world.
And I love to share good feelings with friends. So, whatever your definition of jewelry, let’s assume, like me, you enjoy it.
